Jack Adapter

Hey Folks. I've seen a lot of older posts about the jack adapter for the Valks and wanted to find out if there is anything new out there that y'all are using. I bought a brand new Craftsman ATV/MC lift and know I need to get this adapter to be able to use it without damaging the bike. I've also seen that there are adapters that you can permanently mount on your bike and some that are not. I prefer the mountable ones if they don't take away from the look of the bike. Any comments would be a great help. Thanks!!

E-bay has them and while I can't provide the link some one else might. I built the wooden homemade one for use in my shop. Myself-I don't want all that extra steel added to my Motorcycle. At the Inzanes I've seen some with them and I'll stand with NOT mounting one-BUT that's me!  RIDE SAFE.

I hammered together a wooden one 10 years ago and have used in on two interstates many times, and for many washes, and left bikes on it up to a week at a time, and have complete stability and confidence in it, and it is still going strong (though it's kinda dirty/oily now).  I did use pressure treat for the two uprights, but just soft pine on the one inch bottom (the two inch, 2X4 bottom is harder to get on and off the jack under the bike, and is unnecessary, since the base is just squished between the jack and the bottom of the engine).

Just so you know, some guys have got the metal bolt-on kind (but not the permanent one), and have forgotten to take them off and went riding with it on there, and that is a very bad business.

Basically, there's three kinds of adapters.  The kind that stays on the bike, the kind that you put on and take off when you need to use it....and the make it yourself wooden kind.

Like Jess already said, the one that you take on and off whenever you need it can be forgotten about after you lower the bike.  Hang a rag on it, or some kind of flagging tape so you don't forget about it.  Trust me, you'll only leave it on there once....you won't forget it a second time.   

Also, some people seem to have problems putting that style adapter on saying that they need three arms and hands to do it. 

I don't have a problem with it myself.  I find it rather easy to put on and take off.

My Brothers bike had the Pro Lift (BF's 1st link) installed & it worked great. Was a handy critter always having it with you to jack up the bike anywhere, anytime. Never got in the way or caught on anything. I had plans to add one.
I built one of Mac's (BF's 3rd link) because it didn't have the bottom plate & was easier to get under bike with the extra clearance. Worked great, but I would have still bought the Pro Lift so when we showed up at a friends garage to wrench you could jus' throw the jack under it & rock on.

I've had the pro lift one that bolts on and stays for 3 years now on this Valk. Never any problems with clearance or being in the way. It's there if I need it and am away from home etc.
