I'm looking at Progressive 412 HD shocks for my standard.   I'd appreciate any input from anyone who has run them .

I've read all about the 440 series, not interested at this time.

Thanks.

Both of the Valks residing in my garage are running on 11.5" 412s. One standard and one Tourer.
Have never experienced other shocks on these bikes to make a comparison with though. I have found nothing to complain about with them at all.

I put the standard 412's on my standard last summer for about 1000km, then took them off to put the HD shocks on. I normally run the HD's on 1 or 2, I forget for sure, I weigh about 270 and for a short drive that setting is fine with my GF on back, a longer trip I'll put them up a notch. Had to go up to 4 last summer for a road trip with the GF on back and probably 150lbs of luggage on the rack and in the bags. The factory shocks were getting too soft to carry a passenger on the highest setting after 100 000km.

I put 12" 412hd on mine and got a very harsh ride, I weigh in at about 185. I sent them back to the maker for a softer spring. I still don't really like them, but much better.
