Help me understand please. Are these tires "really" good? Why?
Thanks

I have never been a fan of Dunlops but this tire(American elite) on my street glide lasted 17k miles and still had some tread when changed. I just put one on my IS yesterday and hope to get at least 12. They have some extry deep tread and are a heavy tire. They are Bias ply not radial and not OEM size closest is. 180/65-16.

Darn, just swapped out my Dunflop Elite III's for Avon Cobras (much better tire IMHO).
Next time.

I've had the Dunlop American Elite on my Tourer for the past 13,000 km. It still looks practically new! IMHO it handles very well. I like it very much!

I didn't see the Valkyrie size on your link. Am I missing something?

I posted in my first reply that it is not available in the 180/70-16 but is in 180/65-16 it fits fine just a tad shorter sidewall and I laid it on top of an OEM and barely could tell a difference. I put mine on two days ago and have ridden it about 300 miles and feels good.

I agree with Kunkie, prefer the Avons, however, I look forward to hearing how BH likes the Dunlops as he puts on more miles. My Valk came with Elite III's, they seem ok so far.

I have always been a big fan of Avons but figured since I got the mileage I did out of this tire on my SG I would give it a shot.
