Could just take it to an upholstery shop and have it recovered.
If you have been riding much on that Stock seat from97 you need a new name on the forum here
might I suggest Iron Ass
that thing is horrible.

I have 2 OEM driver seats in perfect shape. Also 3 rear seats. Cheaper than recovering. " You know who"

" my oem 97 seat " ???
holy moly
you gotta have a rock bottom
the best fix would be to locate and buy a 2000 model saddle ....
it'll make your butt grin ...
your butt will thank you ...
just my $0.02

guess I should clarify... this is my second seat probably 6/7 years old..but those oem seats sure are a pain in the ass! (pun intended)

Permatex® Vinyl & Leather Repair Kit
I did mine a few weeks ago. It's not difficult ... just follow the instructions and take your time.

I still have a full deck.
I just shuffle slower ...
