Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the drive shafts of a vtx1300/1800 to  our valk drive shaft.  The part numbers are different but that does not necessarily mean much. My thinking is the valk shaft is pushed to the rear by the spring on the front of the shaft up at the ujoint. This puts pressure on the end of the shaft where it contacts the threaded end of the pinion shaft. On the vtx the spring is in the pinion cup end of the drive shaft and thus pushes the shaft towards the ujoint.....just opposite the valk.
So, big questions would be the overall length of the two shafts and the diameter and spline count on both ends.

I guess I'd fear pushing the shaft the other direction would create a worse problem (perhaps reducing pinion cup spline engagement or something), insofar as the guys who engineered the Valk would have considered both options?  When I had it apart, I noticed the contact you mentioned and it sort of concerned me, but I figured it was designed that way and would be okay (I put some moly paste on there Wink.  If I recall, doesn't the head of the pinion screw have a radius to take that contact?
