I've read a lot of the posts about the temp light flickering. My '98 Tourer has starting doing this but it seems to correspond with another electrical functions. It seems to flicker with the fan coming on and if the turn signal is on the light flickers in rhythm with the turn signal. Is this consistent with what others have experienced? The rest of the story is that this started on the first ride after getting the bike out of the shop after having the carbs rebuilt.

Thanks,
Randy

If it was a bad sensor, I would think that the 'phantom' hot light would happen with no rhyme or reason.  On my '97, there was nothing that happened at the same time.  It would just come on at weird times.  Using a temperature gun, I did a side by side with another Valk, and mine was the same temp, after warm up, as the other...  Blinking with the turn sounds like a short or bad ground.  Check that a wire was not pinched or skinned with the carb work.

And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...
