Is the cable worn and needing replaced or is this another issue. All I know is on a 150 mile ride today I noticed it grabbing right at the grip and prayed I'd make it home to look over. Disengages and engages fine but concerned on it running out of room to disengage. Hope the gurus here can make a determination on this little bit of info. Thanks in advance.

Pulled cap and yes it is low on fluid and may have been that way for awhile.   Sad Haven't noticed anything leaking but maybe you don't see it. Should I just get some fluid and bleed it clean and filled and keep an eye on it or is there a way to know the slave is bad?

I'd start with a clean/bleed/fresh fluid and keep an eye on it.

It is worthwhile and easy to examine the lever, brass bushing, pivot point and plunger for correct fit and function. The brass bushing can wear out. Good luck with the repairs.

If fluid, bushings and such all check out my bet would be the rivets in the clutch damper plate.   What year, model and mileage we talking about?
