Some days %^&^%%$ went to lift my handle bars up about an inch, loosened the bolts, moved it and just started to tighten it, one of the bolts pulled all the threads out. So tomorrow I will be chasing down a set of helicoils to repair it. I would replace the riser, but doubt I could get a set before my trip. Some times I just need to leave stuff alone. tickedoff

Thanks, but these are 4 inch with 1 in pullback. I think I can repair them. Just ticks me off it stripped out.

The classic dilemma with aluminum.  Too tight and problems..... but everyone wants and needs their handlebars to be plenty secure.

Well got my self out of that one, heli coils are my friend, repaired the stripped one, and put heli coils in the other 3 so it does not happen again.
