Started having noises 2 days ago.  Looking for someone just to take a listen to see if it may be something else.  Putting in shop later this week for repair.  Just trying to get an idea of how many Franklins I will be spending.

Sorry, too far away.

I'm sure it's been posted before how much to do the job, and it's a lot. Like $1-1.5K.

The information is also all here to do it yourself. Parts are something more like $100.

What is it you are having happen, only noise, or is the clutch/shifting acting up?

Noise is unusual without other symptoms.  We could really use more information.

I took some time tonight to get close and listened to the heartbeat.   Wait, that's Chevy.   I think I found the source with a clunking coming from the alternator when first starting.  Goes away when warms up.  Stinks because I just put a new aftermarket high output alternator in 4 months ago.

I was looking over the Shop Talk area, and saw this.

Didn't read it. But you thought maybe your alternator. How long have you had the noise then? Did you put in new dampeners?

Maybe buy a set and replace them.
