Okay gang, I am going to gear up to start changing my own tires. HF now has both items on sale. Recommendations needed on the best tools to prevent damage to the rims.

Thank you.

Mojo blocks are almost a must with HF tire changer.  A Mojo lever, No mar, or comprable tire changing lever is also recommended.   Some large tire irons or spoons to get the stiff sidewall moved around.  Get some tire lube as well.

I highly recommend watching the video's on how to change tires on the NoMar site, as well as you tube to figure out your technique.

I went on the mojo site after posting this question. There are 3 different types of blocks so I suppose I need to see what style is required after I get the HF set-up. I can't believe their lever is $100 bucks but probably worth it to not damage an expensive rim. Thanks for the info and suggestions.

Yep, three different style blocks, and you don't know what you need till your HF part gets here.

Yea, the lever is a little spendy...another fella I know got the Nomar one instead, said he liked it better, so do your homework before you run out and buy stuff!  Smiley

I ended up bending the bolt on the Mojo, but it was most likely due to inexperience, and bad technique.
Tip for you, be sure the tire you are taking off, or putting on is warm, like sit in the sunshine warm.  A cold tire is a lot tougher to fight off and on than a warm one.

It's worth every penny paid for it!  cooldude
I have the Mojo Lever and also the No-Scuff tire tool. You can't lose with either one of these.
Link to the No-Scuff tire tool. There's lots of good info.  Smiley
