I am upgrading my turn signals to led and also plan to replace my relay with an led compliant unit.
Where is the relay located on my 98 valk std? I tried a few searches here and on Google with no luck.
Thanks.

I believe you can access it from the left side cover.

It is centrally located in front of the battery box. The easiest access is from the left side, removing both the cover and the coolant overflow reservoir.

I discovered that even with a new flasher you may also need a diode setup or the LED blinkers will be out of whack. At least that's the case with my white/amber switchback LED 1157 bulbs. I'm waiting on the diode kit to arrive, ordered the Kuryakyn one. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,69876.0.html

The diode Y's, if installed correctly, can resolve it. But I found that leaving the standard 1156 bulbs in the rear turn signals also resolves the issue.

Thanks guys. Looking forward adding led bulbs and new flasher. Hopefully a simple upgrade.

FYI I replaced my flasher with a Kisan one 15 years ago and it has handled every turn signal mod I've thrown at it. There have been quite a few - LEd's, Highlighter wired for run brake & turn, rear signal changed to 1157's then 1157 LED arrays, wired with run brake & turn, front signals tungsten then LED. The Kisan unit is spendy however it supports a lot of options. Mine is an older one with fewer options. Don't need them, I've added the same options plus more with my own circuits.

Hey Mark: 2 Questions: 1) Where does one acquire the correct kisan flasher unit and 2) (gulp) Can I afford a set of those turned down pipes like you show on the red bike in your photos? I LOVE them! But, like some of the supermodels that I admire, I may have to admire them from a distance!

With those answers I can quote. Best to do that offline. email is valkstuff@horseapple.com
