The last time I was in Cedar Key on the bike with some friends we had an interesting encounter with the county constabulary. Three of us coming out of there on 24, headed for 19, and busting triples. We met two LEO's....one appeared to be an unmarked county, the other looked like a city squad. We kept rolling, figured if we stopped or slowed it was going to get pricey. Reminded me of another of our Valkyrie group that used to live in Brandon, now in Georgia. He did the same thing before me, told us about it and also decided it was a good idea to keep rolling. He, as did I, figured by the time they got stopped and turned around we'd be long gone. As I've often said....I've had my innocent days in the sun in years past, let someone else run it out now.

Nick, it's nearly 150 miles one-way for me. I used to fly into the little strip they have there. Always fun to get this old gal meet you in a beat up Chevy wagon. Fly over town, do a little wig-wag with the wings and head for the strip. By the time you got it tied down, here she is, skin like tanned leather, most of her teeth met so she could bite. She'd run you into town, you agree on a pickup time and place and you'd better be there or take a chance on catching her elsewhere. Slip her a good tip and she'll remember you the next trip. The town kinda organized the "taxi" service in recent years, set a price, and it allows more than one person to run back and forth. Always a treat though.

Hey Nick,  JP has never been to River Ratz and has always wanted to go. I know there are a good amount of people that do not like RR and have had a bad experience there so they don't want to go back, we totally understand. Not trying to coerce anyone to go and it might be a two bike ride this week for us. So just an FYI on our destination via a simple loop through Bville to Floral City and down to RR and then home for us.

My Saturday is already locked in this week.  Cedar Key is in our "neck of the woods" almost.  So are the two Saturdays after that but maybe do that Cedar Key ride in May during love bug season.

I will admit that I am a tad more aware when eating there because of these reports, we have had very good food and service the two times there. Have fun and be safe.

Well.......  Today was one of those crazy, crazy days. Will not bore you with the details


Just got home and I found out I messed up my work schedule and will not have enough time to make the ride and make it back on time. 

Sorry guys, will not be able to make it for Saturday's ride.

If anyone is riding Sunday and don't mind another Valcoholic tagging along, let me know.

River Ratz was actually very good, We had Jerry & Sherry, JP, Me, and a couple of new folks who have ridden with us a few times, Fitz & Vanessa.
I think we went on every back road u can take to get there, Awesome ride and Great company as always
