RICHMOND, Virginia - An executive for an anti-animal cruelty group says her 16-year-old blind and deaf dog died after she accidentally left him in her hot car for four hours.

Robin Starr, the CEO of the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says she didn't realize "Louie" was in the car until noon. Starr's husband, Ed, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch he put the dog in her car as she got ready for work Aug. 19. She often took the dog to work with her.

Robin Starr took the dog to two clinics, but he died of kidney failure.

The National Weather Service says the temperature had reached 91 degrees by noon that day.

The board of the SPCA says it still supports Starr, who has been CEO since 1997 and does not plan to resign. It was unclear whether she would be charged.

......So let me get this straight.......The HEAD of the SPCA is being cruel to her poor handicapped dog to the point of killing it.  And the SPCA still supports her.  LMAO!!!!!!

The Kool-Aid drinkers are out in force!!!!!!

Sounds more like a real accident of circumstance.

How in the Hell do you NOT know there's a DOG IN THE CAR???  She was probably on her cell phone when she got in the car, all the time she was driving, and when she got out.  Braindead.   uglystupid2

The dog was sitting right next to the 800lb gorilla.  Some people are clueless.

Well this just in......from another couple of site."
"According to Starr, her husband, Ed, put the elderly dog in the back cargo area of Starr's car last Wednesday morning, but became distracted and forgot to inform his wife. Starr then drove to work, unaware of the dog's presence. When Starr returned to her car during the lunch hour, the dog appeared to show signs of heat stroke."
In another story, she drives a Volvo stationwagon.  An "open air" car and she dont know the dog is in the cargo area?
In her own words...."I am a tireless crusader for "HOMELESS" animals."  There in is the fine line.  This poor dog's problem was that he was not homeless.   He had a home......just the wrong one.
A couple more hits on that tankard of kool aid and she will be fine.
