I can honestly say that I have had the front wheel pretty light but never actually pulled a wheelie. How many of you have actually pulled a wheelie on you Valk, intentional or not?

Guilty...but it was unintentionally...yeah...that is it...unintentional.   angel angel angel

Hi...My name is Joe and I am a wheelieholic.

It is MUCH easier with a passenger on the back.  You can snap the throttle on and pull the wheel up pretty easy.  Pop the clutch and it will DEFINITELY come up.  Alone...and you have to give it a bit more throttle and pop the clutch to pull the front up.

Or so I have heard.  Cheesy

Oh yeah...that is probably why my u-joint failed with only 58k on the bike.  But nothing shows that sporties that they REALLY don't want to mess with a power cruiser like pulling the front wheel up at the light.  Cheesy

I have owned a '98' and now have a '97' Valk and have wheelied them both off the line two up. Tried to do it off the line with just me on the bike but it just burned the rear tire. Never tried it from a roll, maybe I will?

I haven't tried it from a dead stop...I get rolling slowly first, pull the clutch in, rev the motor, and pop the clutch and roll the throttle on a little to keep the wheel up where I put it.  I haven't tried riding it more than the gear I am in.  I have seen this video of a Valk riding a wheelie through a couple of gears (at least that is what it looks like to me).  I have not tried that one.

'98 standard (Semi-tourerized) that's been up on one wheel numerous times, but never intentionally...

Every time it's happened I've been in third gear and see something I need to speed up for (Light, traffic, whatever) so I've popped in the clutch, kicked it down a gear, revved the motor and popped the clutch back out...

...any everytime I've wheeled was when I was really in SECOND gear, THOUGHT I was in third... Popped it from 2nd to 1st, revved the engine and popped the clutch out, and up she went...

Never tried on my Valk but I have done several on my ST1300 with and without passenger Intentionally and not.

With a passenger you really have to consentrate on not pulling the wheel off the ground with just a hard excelleration.

The unintential ones can be scarry.

Wheelied my "Rat Rod" Valk several times.

First time while racing a "stage III" equipped Rocker.
The Rocker rider accused me of hiding a nitrous bottle on my bike (what a maroon).

Only once, but it wasn't intentional.  Leaving across a parking lot, I was accelerating pretty hard and thought that a car was about to back out in front of me.  I backed off of the throttle, and then when I saw the car wasn't backing out, jumped back on the throttle.  To my surprise, the front wheel smoothly lifted off the ground and I thought to myself WTF!  This was many years ago when I had just started riding the Valk.  I had several friends that saw this and they though it was the coolest thing they had ever seen.  Its never happened again and I've never tried to do it again on purpose.  Most of the time when I hit the throttle hard, I end up spinning the tire.

Livin' the Valk, er, F6B life in Central Florida.

Pulling out of a McDonalds {yeah I know!} into a 6 lane hwy {441} it was all clear in my lane. Of course some twit in one of those Fast & Furious fart can equipped cars whips out to pass the car in the center lane. Since I was already commited I had to hammer the Valk & power shift into 2nd. You guessed it...POW the front end comes up. Held it a bit to gather speed & she came down fairly easy. WHEW!!!

Now my other big bike wheelie was not so nice! It was on my Rocket 3.
Daytona BikeWeek last year we were sitting at a light on US1, left lane was open. Just as the light was about to turn green a fellow dressed in full "biker pirate" mode comes flying out of a side street on the opposite side of the hwy cutting across the road the wrong way into the empty lane next to us. He was on one of those Big Bear/Dawg/Iron/Horse looong "choppers" with the obliglitory 18" open pipes. He had a buddy with him right behind on an American Made, Legendary bike with lots of Heritage dresser, also with straight pipes. Well....... My drag race instincts took over & I hammered the throttle, no clutch at all. BOOM!!! The front end comes up QUICK & I had to stay in it for a little bit. The funniest thing was I looked over at the guy just as I went by him on the back wheel  Shocked & his eyes were bugged out with his mouth forming a big O.  2funny 2funny I had a homemade glasspack exhaust on the R3 so it was no slouch in the noise dept. at full throttle either! That was not the time or place for any more of that kind of riding so I backed off & let him go by. Besides, the point was made!  Grin It came down kinda hard but no damage done. When we got to the next light Kim asked me "what the hell was that?" . I said "I don't know & I aint never gonna do that again!!!
I don't know who was more surprised, the pirate or me!!! 2funny Grin

The Fat Girls can definately get their nose in the air and it doesn't take all that much to do it...I've had my Interstate up in the air more than once and it's funny as all get out to see the look on the Harley rider's faces...

Guilty although it took me a while to figure out how to do it without going up in smoke. I've never been able to stay interested in a bike I couldn't wheelie.

While I was laid up with the broken leg I rode as a passenger on my valk while my son the Duc Man wheelied it which was an odd sensation. On my standard it's much easier to do with a passenger and easiest of all with a T bag on the carrier. Hardest with no passenger, no luggage and a full tank, at least for me. I don't try to hold the wheel up, I'm happy with just picking it up now and then. Of course I'm on the 2'nd rear end ($$$) so I don’t do that as often as I used to.  Grin

No offence taken. I crashed many times on dirt bikes as a kid and young adult learning to do that. That former dirt bike craziness led to knee surgery later in life also. Without that background I would probably have never wheelied street bikes.

Guilty!  I did the same thing as others noted below.  I rounded a corner, dropped it into 2nd Gear, revved the engine and popped the clutch.  It came up smooth as butta!!!  I don't do it often, but every once in a while......

Yeah, I know.  Not my normal riding attire, but the peer pressure was more than I could stand! Raymond said something like: "you don't have a hair on your ass if you don't do a wheelie...."

I'm a big boy,  and I knew the risk I was taking and was prepared to suffer if it went bad.  Or maybe it was impulsive and I only realized how stupid it was after the fact.  Oh well, I lived to tell about it.

Valkyrie's are awesome, no?
