Search is your friend.  That being said, I use a blue Honda factory filter for Honda automobiles 'cause that's what's in the barn.

All Valks take the same filter.

This is the info from Jeff K's page in "shoptalk"  I use Napa Gold 1358 because I order all my oil & filters from them, for all my machines, and delivery is free.

I just changed mine yesterday. I was using my second Purolator L14459, white housing.

Discovered after complete, that there was fresh oil under the filter. Pulled it off, and slapped on a Honda OEM. While placing it on, something fell off the motor, completed installing the filter.

Picked up a black o-ring. It was the seal from the old oil filter. That is why my Puro didn't seal, 2 seals on it. Saved the filter in a sandwich bag for next year's oil change. (Shell Rotella T6 synthetic).

I also bought a Fram, but haven't tried it yet. That one will be 2 years down the road. If I remember, around $3 each. Honda OEM, cost me $19 locally.

hi-flo number HF303 is same as K&N number KN303 and 5-7 bucks cheaper, same thing without the nut.

Also, if a carquest is nearby you, have them cross reference the WIX number 51334 mentioned above since carquest slaps their name on theirs but is made by WIX, another good option, think the number is 85334 in carquest auto parts store, but double check with them to be 100% sure.  Both hi flo and carquest oil filters are black if that matters to anyone and both are under 10 bucks.

A few years ago I called Mobil oil to ask them a question about their oil filters ( I forget what the question was), but the person I was talking to couldn't answer the question so he gave me the number of the company that makes their filters. The person I talked to at the filter company said that they manufacture most of the major filter brands to their customer specs and that Mobil one filters were by far the best.

Purolator PL14612 filter and since it is an ugly mustard color, I cover it with a nice little Harley shock cover that is chrome plated. http://www.jpcycles.com/search/search?Ntt=7000095&N=28012814&Ntk=All  (They come in pairs, but you can always find someone that is glad to get the extra cover.) I have bought 3 pairs over the years...Jim Smiley
