OEM replacement windscreen..

hey guys need some advice..

an being told by my local dealer that the OEM windscreen for my 1998 is unavailable. Cant get them anymore

what is a suitable re[placement that gives similar wind coverage as the monster shield I have now

I am well protected back there and dont want to make a mistake in picking something I wont like

I have ridden in 50 degree weather with a t shirt on behind that screen and wasn't cold ..

hard to get that with a smaller shield .....anyone know where any OEM shields are hiding ....thanks for your input

Try Clearview for a OEM-style replacement shield...

OEM-style as in: it will fit on the OEM hardware.

not OEM-style as in: made of different stuff, thicker, nicer (I think)...

I looked through your past posts but didn't see which model you had.  If you have the Tourer (has hard saddle and factory windshield like the one shown at this site:  Windscreen), I would go with a Clearview like previously offered.  Top quality, a bit thicker than stock, same mounting.  You just replace the plastic and go.

If you have a Standard with an aftermarket windshield, then you will have to either replace everything (plastic and mounting frame) with a unit of your preference (such as Memphis Shades) or contact the manufacturer of your shield and ask for a replacement shield for your frame.

Hope this helps.

Since you say it's a 98, I assume it's a standard or  tourer. Check these out, they use the OEM hardware.

If you don't want to use the original hardware, check into what Memphis Shields has to offer.

F4 Customs used to offer shield replacements for the tourer/standard, but they seem to only offer replacement shields for the Interstate now.

Salty posted the links to the only other known suppliers of aftermarket replacement shields for the tourers and standards now.....CeeBailey's and ClearView.

I found a guy not far from me that takes your original windshield and uses it as a template to cut you a new one.  Doesnt handle windshields with compound curves or anything but the end result is pretty good and fits with the OEM hardware.
