I am going to start off by saying that i am going to murder ther verabge on everything in this post but if you have had a spedo housing apart, i hope you can understand what i am saying.

I took the front wheel off of my interstate a couple of weeks ago and ever since i put the tire back on my speedo hasnt been working. I figured i didnt install something correctly. I removed the speedo housing and when i took the speedo housing apart  from the sensor i saw that  the plastic ring that connects with the hub was spinning freely but the little disk that the sensor reads wasnt spinning. I than removed the black housing that contains the small disk from the metal spedo housing. I saw that the shaft was broken that was suppose to spin the small disk.

I hope someone can understand what I am trying to say. If you can understand, what parts do i need to fix this problem. I saw a parts diagram and saw that I am able to purchase a brand new speedo house for about $85 but I dont know if that comes with both the metal housing that connect to the wheel hub and that black housing that contains the little disk that the sensor reads. Any help would be every much apprciated!

Tyco are you referring to item 10 in the breakout shown below?

While you're at it, I'd also replace #8 along with the complete speedo sending unit #10. FWIW, you can get both items from the link below for $59.14, that's seven bucks less than Partzilla.

I dont mind re placing #8 and #10 but  I am just  confused as to if I am going to need to replace any  part of the sensor housing. The shaft that makes the little disk in the black unit that the speedo sensor reads is broken. It doesnt appear that I can remove the broken shaft from the black sensor unit. I am probably not making any sense.

#10 should be everything in and on the housing...including the housing.
