I put a pair of Progressive 412 shocks on the Valk a few days ago.  I rocked that bike on the side stand a few times, and went out on test ride... ten miles, tops.   When I got back and dismounted, I noticed on shock had a loud squeak. I remounted them, swapping sides, and the same shock squeaked.  Progressive tech support didn't exactly inspire confidence ("Can you hear it over the engine?) and suggested I oil the bushings and sleeves.  I did that but the squeak remains.

I'm reluctant to ride on a shock I think is defective.

Has anyone else had a squeaky 412 shock.  Does noise go away, or should I continue to try to deal with Progressive?

Dear Friend

I have Progressives 412 13" on my I/S and no squeaks that I'm aware of.
