I've seen these threads in most of the other news groups I belong too so I figured I'd start one here.

After painting my levers black I installed some lever fringe with red lace I ordered from Chillowee, I wanted to add a splash more color to my bike.

What did you do?

I repacked all the dried-out rain gear and covers that got wet last weekend.

Those following my saga know that I'm useless without Thule the Frenchie and I've been searching for, then found, then lost contact with a source for a spare set of trunk braketry for my I/S.

Well, yesterday I went to Home Depot and stalked the actual hardware aisle till I had collected enough bits to build me some flip'n brackets.  I haven't actually done it, but today is the day I mount Thule's Spot on the Interstate.  I will edit in pics when I succeed.

I dreamed wistfully of riding on a beautiful spring day, while I actually labored all day with mower and whacker and blower, and shovel, and rake, and car wash.

Except for the 500 tons of oak pollen about to fall and turn my world yellow, all my spring cleaning is done.

Yes but are your LEDs synchronized to light one per cylinder when each cylinder fires?   Roll Eyes

Nope, but I seriously considered hooking them to the speed wire so they would brighten as I accelerate.

Upper shock bushings.  Mine were completely thrashed.

While I was down there, I installed a permanent lift brace that goes under the kickstand.  Now, I'll be able to get both wheels in the air with no creative shop gyrations...

I spent a couple of hours chasing down why the right side bank of stack LED's went out last night.  Seems I pinched a wire while tightening down the stacks which led to a melted power wire on that side.

Saturday, hope to report the new front tire is mounted.  Need to work it in before the trip to Spearfish.

Thanks guys.  The Mist was in charge of painting the valve covers for me, she still has good eyes and steady hands.  I am very happy with the way they turned out.

The Garmin Zumos are waterproof.  I'm too cheap - use a Garmin Nuvi 750.  It was in the trunk but I put it on top of a wet towel and it ruined the digitizer.  Just dumb.

What did you do to your Valkyrie today?

Rode the snot out of it (and killed some buggies).  First all-day Spring ride for distance of the year.  Way over in western VA through really hidden areas with the best local ride leader I know (and a small group of fast movers).  Fresh cut grass, full bloom dogwoods, redbud and flowers everywhere and wonderful smells.  Along many rushing backwater creeks and rivers, stone hillsides, civil war stone walls, and a nearly submerged old stone bridge.  Much of it in the Geo Washington national forest.  And the perfect cool/warm light jacket weather.  The perfect day.

I wish I had a video but no cigar.

Even had an almost 6 foot gal on her Electra Glide along and she fit right in and kept right up.   cooldude

Rode it to work, again, like yesterday. I sure missed the gurl, she'd been sitting in Mom's boat shed in Pa. since the Dam Ride.

Rode her home to NC on Sunday, still covered in road grime from the Dam ride and sitting semi-outside (3 walls) in that shed. She's still filthy today, with additional dead bugs smeared on the windshield.

Too busy - pressure washing the inground pool bottom, scarfing off the old paint down to concrete, prepping for a new skim coat of hi-tech  (Mapecam Quickpatch), seal with Planiseal 88, then 2 part epoxy paint.  3rd time (in 12 years) is the charm for this pool-paint job.

Got no time for bike washing.

Did take a different route on Sunday. MD5 to 68E to 220S (Cresaptown?), 956, 28S, 50E, 17S, 29S, 669 at Brandy Station, 3E, Brock Rd, 208, 95S, 295S, 64E, 664S, 17S through Deep Creek to home. Rode with a Harley for some of the 17 part, license plate COPRTOP, from Stafford. Nice fella and we kept a good pace...misdemeanor, not felonious speeds.
