Hi all, probably another daft question but here goes. I got my  workshop manual today. The wiring diagram for the radio system shows input cable for a CD multi  changer. Is this standard. I found the AUX in lead but cant see anything that would control a CD changer. Any help would be appreciated as the radio stations in the UK suck as you lot say  Shocked
Thanks

Clarion once offered a 6-disc saddlebag-mounted changer setup which used the I/S' stereo FM radio to receive signals from the "FMC-250" control head/modulator. The 13-pin DIN connector and cable for a CD changer was added to the OEM Clarion radio module, but if you open one up you'll find...many solder pads which aren't populated with components, and whose foil traces connect to the header which attaches said 13-pin DIN plug/cable.

Several rumors abound regarding the omission. At least one had to do with licensing arrangements with the radio firmware and the OEM of the changer (Panasonic).

It's entirely possible to roll your own I/S version if you source a DC-625 changer, FMC-250 modulator/control head and the necessary brackets/cabling to fit it into a saddlebag. Two of the wires in that 13-pin bundle are analog out (L/R channel) so it's also possible to route them to a user-supplied power amplifier. Online schematics and data are your friends.

Of interest is that I've managed to identify one more radio in the model series that I THINK uses the same overall chassis and mainboard design but actually came equipped with the logic interface components installed from the factory. I'm going to snatch one of these up in the near future and see about comparing the two setups. Maybe come up with a way to add Radio "X" functions to the I/S setup, or swap the mainboards outright. Whatever works.

Will keep the group posted on findings.
