Brought home my new Valkyrie last week!!! Fell in love with it on the 60 mile ride home. Stable, lots of low end power, wind doesn't get you. Low center of gravity works excellent. I had the Dealer add the Honda tall windshield and rear seat eliminator kit before I picked it up. WOW!!! This bike is smooth, smooth, smooth. I had a pair of 2003 Suzuki Volusia mirrors I put on it as they are the same shape but stick out past the rider a bit more. I chose a black one. The dealer gave me $5500.00 off list price and free labor. How could I say no??? Looking forward to summer day trips on it. Can't get the 4000 mile 1st oil change thru my head as the manual states. I'm thinking 2000 is more realistic. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

I think all new Honda's say 4000 on break in oil. I bought a new1800 VTX some years back and the dealer said he didn't want to see it for 4k miles and I had it back to him in 3 weeks Grin with 4300 on it angel

Good luck with her Dan. cooldude

I picked up a black one a little over two weeks ago.

I'm going to post a few pics as I put the miles on.

I've always done arundel 300  then 3000 mile then 6000 etc.

Although on my Valkyrie, I bought it then went to Thunder Beach and back so it got its first oil change at 1000.  It's really not that big a deal in new vehicles.  Pick what makes you comfortable and change it regularly.
