I need some risers for my Interstate. I don't want to have to replace hoses and cables so do you know where I can find some?

I have the same Aeromachs and they are great. You can buy cheaper 4", but not stronger. And a straight bolt up with no mods or changes necessary. Except you may want to turn your handlebar wire guides (clips) around 180*, easy to do (check wire tightness at full lock each way).

I agree that these are the best choice. I tried a competitor brand and had some trouble with the fit against the fairing. The aeromachs fit great.

Since I got my I/S 8 years ago and didn't get all the info on what he did to the bike. What is the size of OEM risers? And how are the measured. Just want to know if I have OEM or aftermarket.

I'm not sure on the OEM but do know they are shorter than 4" which a lot of people go to

This link is helpful (and old). Tim Skelton measured the stock OE valk risers at 3 1/8". I gave mine to someone 10 years ago. http://timskelton.com/valkyrie/how_to/risers.htmStock risers on the left. The LaMonster risers discussed in this link are essentially identical to the Aeromach 4" honda pullbacks. They were sold by HDL for a long time, but since sold, I don't see them there anymore. Same with the 4 1/4" Cycle House (in-house HDL) risers, no longer sold (that I can find). Now Skelton said the Lamonster (Aeromach) .... provide an additional 1.25" pullback and .25" rise. but I think that is in error. Seems to me if they are 4" risers, they would be 3/4-7/8" taller than 3 1/8" stock risers(but mounted on an angled triple tree, actual rise may not be the same as simply measuring the difference in length of each riser). 1.25" additional pullback may be accurate, but this still sounds a bit short to me. When HDL did sell these, the advertised rise and pullback was NOT consistent with what Skelton reported. Now the Aeromach 4" Honda pullbacks are specifically advertised for 1300 VTX (but also as fitting all valks) and they say.... The risers .... raising the bars up 2" and 1-1/2" closer to you from the stock location , while allowing you to retain your stock throttle and brake cables. This sounds closer to accurate for pullback, but how do 4" risers give you two inches taller than 3 1/8" valk stock risers? (They may be speaking only about the 1300 VTX risers, of which I am ignorant.) http://www.aeromachmfg.com/RISER_SET_4_VTX_Retro_1300_p/am-4120c.htmSuffice it to say, I have never heard anyone not like these risers, except for those who chose the Harley deuce knockoffs at 5.5" rise (which require drilling the triple tree out a few thousandths/or metric/SAE conversion riser bolts, rerouting throttle cables inside the tree, and grinding/cutting off the dome on the bottom of the risers) These are also shown in the Skelton link, but his mention of longer bolts is not exactly correct. I have the Aeromach on one interstate, and the Harley deuce on the other (supervalk). Both are great (stock is not great). I like the deuce more for kicked back cruising on the hwy pegs and freeways, and I like the Aeromach better for performance riding in the mountains, sitting up and paying attention.

Thanks John, the first link doesn't mention the Interstate but can't imagine why they wouldn't work...unless they hit the fairing. On the second link, what is the height? They was one brand that i can't remember on a forum that broke!! That would be some kind of scary!!

I went the same route as Farther. Works for me. Cheap, nice looking, easy install. I bought mine on ebay per a discussion about risers 2 yrs ago. Foot note, I am 6' 4". 35" sleeve length, long arms. Tilted the bars back just a bump from stock position. Put me in the sweet spot.

They was one brand that i can't remember on a forum that broke!! That would be some kind of scary!! They don't hit the fairing at all. I have them on the lower setting, and if you add any or all the other spacers, it just brings the bars back further not up much more where it would contact the fairing. I'd say they are at 4.5. I do recall a photo of a broken set..but not sure if they are the ones or similar.

I didn't want to mention names in my earlier post, but it was a set of 4 inch Phat risers that I had a problem with on my IS. They were too tall and didn't clear the fairing. Luckily I had a set of Aeromachs on my Standard that I placed on the IS and then put the Phats on the Standard.

The PO of my '98 Tourer told me that the risers he put on were for a H-D Sportser. They have 4.5" rise, 1.5" pull back and are well made...

I don't have the IS but the Tourer. I did not want to change any cables but wanted an extra inch of extention. for $75 I ordered a one inch extension that is the easiest fix ever. It goes on top of the riser and extends it one inch and provides new bolts. I got it at WWW.GENMARMFG.COMCheck it out it is an easy fix. I found that one inch is all I had for slack.
