Will someone post up a picture or two of how they mounted the Stebel in the IS pod please.

Especially ideas for a bracket to mount it.

Does the heat blowing off the radiator cause problems?

I didn't mount my Stebel in the pod.  I have the lift adapter under my IS and that made a great and easy place to mount it for me.  Drilling one hole on the lift adapter was a lot easier than all the fancy ideas I had for fabricating a bracket.  Wiring was a breeze too.  Just another idea for you...

I'm not going to pull the pod but will explain what I did. I used a P-clamp on the engine guard to hold the metal strap I devised. All I did was use a piece of strap metal from Home Depot and drilled it to mount the horn at the top and drilled it for the clamp at the bottom. I then put the bottom area in a vice and twisted it 90 deg. so I could aim the horn forward. I drilled a small hole in the horn plastic housing and mounted the relay, then attached the wire from the OEM horn to activate the relay. I then ran a wire from a 12v source to the other contacts on the relay. No special wiring done, used the existing horn button and wiring. A little trial and error for getting the pod back on but it's been in there for years with no trouble.

I don't have pictures, but I mounted one in both pods. Been several years and they still work fine. Think I used some of the mounting hardware that comes with horns or strap metal from the hardware store. What took me the longest is making sure the horns don't rub the pod, and at the same time able to remove and replace the already challenging pods. But I did it, so any one can.

Thank you.  I have a 60 amp relay so plan on 1 in each pod. If I need the horn there will be no confusion.

I took a piece of flat stock about 1 1/2" wide by about 6"Long  and bent it to 90* just long enough to fit top mounting hole on horn(just eyeballed it) and drilled a hole in it and bolted on horn so long side was laying down the side of horn and took a boot out of radiator mount and used it to bolt bracket to the bike. Slipped pod back over and done.

Yep.... Easy install and no need to mess with the pod.  Actually it probably helps with the sound being on both sides as well.

Well, I got a chance to use the Stebel mounted to the lift adapter for the first time today.  The wife and I were zooming down a country road, coming out of a turn, when I see Farmer Brown in his Chrysler mini van about to pull out from his driveway and out in front of me.  A quick blast from the Stebel from about a 1/2 a block away, and he stops and waves as we go by.   (Hey Farmer Brown, it helps to look BOTH ways!)

Damn glad I put that thing in!  And I decided to order one for my Aero.
