Nice set of saddlebags I got from a VRCC member. They use the hook/latch type of closure. Anyone know if they can be fitted with the OEM hinge set up like the Tourers? Like that much more than what's on there now.
Thanks!

If you have an aftermarket seat the lid will rub the. Seat every time you open it or if an Inerstate they won't open because of the trunk.

I have an un-studded Ultimate seat, the lid rubs on it. The seat holds the
lid securely open even... I had a Corbin seat on there for a few weeks that
didn't rub on the lid and didn't hold it open... blegghhh  Smiley

I don't see a mark on the lid, but then again, I'm not Gordon  Wink ...

But I am Gordon!  Sad

You have an OEM set of hard bags with the IS style hook latch at the front? If you don't want them, then swap with someone else who does. You wont have to buy anything. Just the 2 of you swap. Don't forget the cables.

All those parts are not expensive I replaced all the hardware on both mine when painting. The latches were the highest (mine had some rust pits ).

Thanks everyone. The lids for the Champion bags that were on the bike also rubbed on the Ultimate Seat I have. Never saw it as a big deal or noticed any scuffing on the bag lid. And a big shout out to Gordon for the suggestion.  cooldude Never crossed my mind to post in classifieds for a trade. Mayhaps there is a member out there willing to make a trade.
