We met a couple from England while at Waterrock Knob overlook and they took this picture and emailed it to us later.  They were touring the U.S. and had started in California and rented a car to go East.  This is one of the best views on the BRP in my opinion, close to the view from Mt. Mitchell.  You can see the casino/hotel in Cherokee from here looking West.  In the late afternoon you will see a lot of people set up with their cameras on tripods to get pictures of the sunset.  I promise I won't take up too much of your time looking at pictures after this.  Just wanted to give those of you that have not been there before, some suggestions on places to see while there.

I for one, appreciate the pics and like looking at them, thanks for sharing.

I got to say that even with great pics, sometimes pics don't do justice to the views that you get to experience when there in person.

Too bad you guys will not be there during that time.
As far as weather, it is June and showers is almost a guarantee at some point, just hope that we get the majority of the week with decent weather

I'll second Jacks' appreciation for the pics Terry. This is an area I have been to many times and never tire of the views, the rides and the enjoyment I get out of these mountains. I like going up to Waterrock at night and see the stars and little lights below. Wish you and Iris could join us Terry.

I think that was the weekend that the VOAI had the rally in Maggie Valley.  You and I had to play catch up to the group.  I think that was the trip that you came up to the hotel telling about the guy that didn't make the curve and went by you on your right side.  I can see where that would be a bit unnerving.

Yep... the whole group (except you and I) pulled out of the
quickie mart, and then we had to wait for about a million
cars to go by before we could leave the lot...
