We received the bad news that he had a massive heart attack with 100% blockage of the widow maker artery last night. He was rushed to Manatee Memorial where they put in a stent and noted lots of damage to the heart.  He is slowly doing better and using less oxygen as time goes by. His wife and brother has had good communication with him as we monitor his progress. Mike is only 46 and has two children.  Keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.   Mike and I go way back.

Most definitely will keep him in our thoughts. Next time I see you, I'll tell of my experience three years ago....or others on here can. Five weeks hospital, ten days coma. Nasty business. Mine couldn't be corrected with a stent....and I was 74 at the time.

Real sorry to hear that, we will keep him in our prayers.  I went through basically the same thing when I was 42, with proper care there can be a good outcome.

Was hoping to bring a better update: Mike has been in the intensive care unit in Tampa General under extreme sedation almost two weeks now. They are trying to get him stable so they can do open heart surgery and place a VAD pump in to take over the pumping for him.  The amount of damage that was done is extensive.   Embarrassed
