I installed a Harbor Frt Pittsburgh Model 1800 wheel chock on my 6 x 10 trailer. When we tried it out, loading up my 2003 , it doesn't seem to come forward enough to get the tire onto the floor of my trailer. Instead, it's still in the cradle about a inch or two off the floor. Any suggestions on this, I can't believe the tire and weight of the bike should be resting on the cradle and not on the trailer floor.? Thanks

I am using that HF chock and my front wheel as well as a Suzuki Intruder 1500 sit all the way down. I remember the tire was a little pinched at the contact points, but the tire touched and tilt cradle rotated fully. Mine is about 5 years old.

Try moving the pivot pin back so the tire has more room to rotate forward.

You could drill another set of holes 1" back to move the cradle back. That should allow the wheel to drop down in.
I looked these up at HF and it looks like they have 2 identical chocks with 2 different part numbers. What's up with that? Which one does a guy get? Can't ask the employees at my HF as they are all young girls. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just that I'll bet they couldn't answer that question.
Just recently bought one of their miter saws. Same deal. Two part #'s. Studied both boxes til I seen one ran 200 rpm faster. ???

Looks like re-drilling is the way to go as well. Remove the rear and just push the front tire up against the stop. Locate the rear stop against the tire and mark it for drilling.

I will go out on a limb here because I don't own a wheel chock and don't remember looking at the ones I have seen closely enough to remember...but don't you want the tire a little off the ground when it is in the chock? That is what keeps pressure on the tire to keep it in the chock...right? I would leave it as it. It looks like the wheel is well past the roll-over point on the rear part...so it should not fall out...right?
Since you have this in your trailer, you are not relying on only the wheel chock to hold the bike. It is only there to hold the bike upright while you apply the proper tie-downs.
If I am missing something, please let me know.

Joe has a point ! I have one of these as well and put my '97 on it just for the heck of it. Sits the same way as yours does. Never noticed that before. Will leave mine as is.

I have a harbor freight chock and have mine in center hole. I tried the lower hole but it holds bike better in the center hole. Had this chock for about 5 yrs bolted to the floor in the garage and also move it to my trailer when I tow bike.

If you check out the Condor wheel chock they say with their chock that the tire should be a bit off the ground/floor when the bike is in the chock. The Condor is somewhat similar in design to this HF in concept, the tire by being slightly raised tends to keep the wheel in place with some pressure.

Also with the wheel all the way down to the floor in the chock, it makes for a "strained" removal when pulling the bike out of the chock (you're n*ts and back will thank you).
Up off the floor is the right way. Yours can even be a bit higher and it won't hurt a thing.

I have the same chock and your tire looks like mine. IMO, JoeValk has it right.

Thanks to everybody who responded, looks like I'm OK the way it's set up for now.
