It sounds like the OP is talking about Gary's bushings... Gary (I think that
was his name) passed a while ago. It has since been discovered that
one of his batches of bushings was bad somehow, other's have also
reported failures. Mostly, though, his bushings were good.

Those xf6-custom ones are supposed to be good too.

The VTX ones are good also. I've got XF6 and VTX and can't tell any difference so far.

I think it was an early batch of dampeners (that crumbled), not shock bushings... I could be wrong.

What is the part# of stock VTX shock bushings since when I looked them up, the VAlk and VTX rear shock bushings were same part#?  Heard the green VTX ones are better, but where to get and what part#?

I just replaced mine first time at 30K miles and Honda OEM top ones were shot and ripped in two, while the bottom ones were so-so, but at 3.35 each, less than 14 bucks per set, who cares, replaced all 4 with Honda OEM's.

Not sure what exactly they do besides maybe cushioning the shocks and maybe help in handling slightly?

I have garys bushings, brother has the xf6 ones. Changed the rear tire on my dads interstate today and did the maintaince. Found bad shock bushings and the drive shaft and pinion cup worn. We have a new shaft and cup ordered but not the shock bushings yet. Thinking about going with the green vtx on his just to see how each hold up.
