Hey guys, bought this 2000 Interstate last year & whenever I first get on the bike & hold it up straight off the stand , the front shocks go down about 2" ....is that normal or do I have a problem?

I haven't measured mine, but that doesn't sound out of line.

Mine compressed about the same. Just had them rebuilt with progressive springs and now have less sag. I've been told rebuilding with the stock springs may also improve as well. Lots of good threads here about rebuilding the front end. cooldude

Doesn't sound out of line, if you like them while you're riding you're probably good.

If you think it is too "pogo-sticky" while you're riding - extend all the way out when
you nail the throttle, sink way down when you hit the brakes hard, a set of
progressive springs will help... with progressive springs, I think we have
really good forks...

Thanks for the info....I know my VTX  did not do this. Good to hear I don't need to throw money at it.  I love the bike, probably will be my last.  Get the biggest kick out of showing people the "nickel" trick.  Some guys think it's glued or its a magnetic slug 2funny
