OK so i was reading that if i take off the rear trunk is makes it a super valk, maybe more to it but none the less i looked into this, i found all the wire conections and the 4 stud bolts that hole the trunk on, and let me tell you if my wife sees how little is holding her in she might not ride with, ummmm ok anyhow before i take it to the next step i want to be sure i do it rite.
what do i do now? just loosen them stud bolts and it just pops off? or is there more to be done?

 You will need a taillight.
 If you need one P.M.

Want someone to do it for you and know it was done right?

Or, do it yourself using Big BF's step-by-step pictorial.

Remove trunk from frame.
Remove frame from rails.
Remove trunk rails.

Suggest you leave the existing light and radio plugs there and use them. Easy enough to connect by removing right side cover.

Grind the rail slots as it shows in one of the links, test fit without the trunk.  Reattach the frame to the trunk rails and test fit again. Then attach the trunk to the frame and test fit again.

As for the lighting wires, I suggest you hardware the fender light in behind the plug for the trunk, since you will likely not be removing that, or wire it in behind the plug with bullet connectors in the event you will have a need to remove rear fender.  That way....your  running and brake light for the fender will work all the time, and the trunk lights get plugged in when you attach the trunk.

I removed my antenna and installed a short rubber ducky antenna 12 inches or so that slides down the fender rails and stays out of sight.  It does affect reception quality, but I usually use the  audio MP3 input jack.  That way, the antenna is not an issue during trunk installation or removal and it provides a clean look.

ok well here is what I decided to do, beings how im never in a hurry and to be able to take the rear backrest/tunk off in under 5 minutes just doesn't seem like a reason to cut into the chrome and risk it rusting, so im going to take off them side bars from the fenders put them in a mill drill and tap threads, on the back mount and weld a nut on the inside of the front mount, one of the reasons to go to this way is my seat is an ultimate seat and it  doesn't leave much room to slide the brackets over the studs, I will get a get a nice chrome bolt, and to make it easier im putting on standard threads not metric so in the event I loose one a non metric bolt might be easier to find in a pinch
So what you all think about going this far

Your bike, your choice to do it or not to do it or do it how you want to do it.    Clear nail polish would cover the bare metal, but your call.
