Hi All,
Last year I had the dreaded hydrolock problem on my 1998 Valkyrie standard. I had to replace the rear engine housing, several gears, and I added a new petlock at the time. I did that work in 3 days, but had to leave town before putting the air box, and gas tank back on. I just had to pack everything into my basement until I could get back to it.

Now after all this time, I'm trying to finish the job, but can't find a diagram for the fuel lines and vacuum hoses.
I've searched this forum, and saw lots of posts discussing the same hoses, but not what connects to what!

#1 Here's the bottom of the gas tank with the new petcock installed. I had the fuel line, and the other line labeled, but no longer.

#2 This pic shows one of the two hoses that come off the top carb rail on each side. Can you tell me what these should connect to?

#3 These hoses come from the BOTTOM carb rails, and are connected to a T connector. Where should the end of that hose coming off the T go to?

#4 This is the drain hose that is plugged at the bottom of the bike, that must be unplugged periodically.
What should it connect to at the top of the bike?

#5 Lastly, the air filter housing has 3 connectors at the bottom, but I can only find 2.
Can someone describe what I'm missing?

By the way, here's my baby when it's all in one piece:

Thanks so much for anyone who will help! I'm really stuck here!

Thanks CA,
I have the Clymer manual but it doesn't have any detail on any of those hoses. This one looks like it's from Honda. Hopefully it has what I need.

Picture #3 goes to the petcock, that's your fuel input from the tank/petcock.

Pic #2 is an overflow line(1 of 2) and if you look at the bar that holds the carbs together, one in front and back, you will see two holes. Put those two hoses in those holes, works merely as a support for the hoses which are left open. Makes no difference which bar you use...front or rear one.

In pic #1, that's a vent line and should be hanging somewhere under the back end of the tank. It's small, about 5/32", goes to a T in the line which you will see continues on down to below the bike. The T isn't connected to anything else, left open as a vacuum break in case the bottom should get plugged from road debris or mud dauber wasps nest.

Pic #4 is the answer to #5.

Hope this helps.

John, with that info I think I'll be riding tomorrow.
Thanks!

By the way, that's one of the best looking valks around. I've seen on the web for a while. Good to know the owner is so cool.

Cool....also means you're not so hot. At my age, I'll take "cool" any time.  Grin  Glad I could help.
