Anyone familiar with the MC cruise  cruise control system?
Had my mech. install some O-rings on the intakes and then discovered the cruise control no longer works.

The indicator light comes on.
The brake and tail light comes on as normal.

Note on the indicator light. It comes on rather dim. But I hit the horn and the light brightens up considerably. Have no idea why this would occur.

The rest of the bike works as normal. No fuse issues or related circuit issues except what I noted with the horn.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Sounds like they might have knocked a GROUND loose somewhere in their dicking around.

The wiring harness furnished with the system is pretty much straight forward plug & play.

I'd start at the throttle side and follow the wires forward to where they fasten.   Nose around there for ground points.    Move on the the next loom and do it again.

I don't recall any loom going into or around the Intake area.   But it has been about 17 years since I put mine on.

I'll dig around in my garage and see if I can find the old instructions on installing it.     If I can, you are more than welcome to it.

The led brightening when the horn is pressed does sound like it might be a ground issue like RJ notes.  When mine stopped working one of the wires at the front wheel sensor was broken.  Pretty harsh environment.  I have the manual and it has a trouble shooting section but I'm out of town until next Wednesday.  If you don't have a solution by then I'll be glad to scan it for you.  The folks at MC cruse are real helpful so you might email them.

Gonna have a chat with the mech. that works on my bike again. The cruise has been working recently and I just noticed it not working shortly after he replaced the intake o-rings. I noticed that the Cable interface unit is in the immediate vicinity of the intakes and carbs. I'm thinking something disconnected in the process. The wires at the sensor at the front wheel are beat up some and the insulation is missing on part but I taped them up and it was running fine for some time now so I don't think that the problem is there.

If I don't get anywhere with my guy, I'll hit you guys up for your help.

Thanks

And keep the ideas coming.
