I don't like the dealer and don't trust their service so any service that will be needed I will do. But has anyone found a service manual for the F6C or even the B yet? As far as the first oil change what is the recommended interval?

I would say Honda says 4000 miles on first oil. Don't know that for sure on the f6 but that was what my VTX was.

I got one right away, don't remember where... Google up "honda service manual gl1800c/a" and you'll see them, one of the first hits is a forum member on the classified who has one to sell... it was a couple of months ago, though... -Mike

I bought a like new one on ebay for $45, the owners manual has more info on service intervals, fluid specs, tire pressure etc.

Not sure about the manual, but my dealer told me first service at 1000 miles.
I had a trip planned, so I changed it at 700 (ran out of time to get to the full 1000).

1st service is 4000 then every 8000, its in the manual, I guess your dealer didn't have one either?

Mine is the genuine article, no copy. $45 slightly used looked new, a guy on another forum was the seller.

Apparently not... Ah well... at least it didn't hurt anything.
