Hi people,

After nearly 2 years since the new generation Valkyrie broke cover, I have really struggled to come to grips with its appearance. Everything else about the bike ticks all the boxes for me.

I dropped into the Honda dealer and had a really good look at the 2015 model in red. I think the bike looks much better in this colour rather than the black and blue ones I've seen previously.

The more I looked the more I liked. However as I was going over the bike, I couldn't help but think it would look nicer with more chrome on it. In particular the black grilles over the radiators, the main frame member between the tank and engine, and maybe some of the black plastic stuff around the headlight, and frontal area of the engine.

Is any of this available in chrome at all? I think if I could go down the path of chroming it up somewhat, it would help me get over my issue with the looks.

Thanks,

Mark

I agree with you 8, there are chrome side covers available from Honda. Look for a thread maybe a page or 2 back, a guy from Russia did an outstanding job of chroming and polishing.

For me I am function over form but I plan on either polishing or powder coating the wheels silver when I need new tires and powder coating the cowling around the headlight silver also. I'll bet after you put just a few miles on the bike it will start to look real good. The function part is as good as it can get.

If you look most of the chrome covers that fit the wing will fit the Valk, so there is quite a bit available. I did not really like the look of the bike at first and especially without bags in fact I was not going to buy one till I knew what bags were available, but now with the Corbin bags I love the way the bike looks. I bought the 14 in Maroon just for the reason you stated, because it has more chrome and a slightly brighter appearance. But Just don't go to look, that is where you will get hooked, when you ride one. When I first rode one I made a decision that I could work with it in favor of the benefits the bike offered in driving it. I love my 01 and have put much work into it but driving this 14 is unbelievable. Everything is a trade off, once you drive it you can argue with yourself if its worth it, but dont make any decisions till you do.  Wink
