I went in innocently and pragmatically to look at and ride a CB1100 (very nice). I would have never considered riding the Valk if is weren't for the huge discounts. I almost didn't. I sat on it. It felt huge. I laughed as I sat there. I had always heard that  Goldwings handle better than you think, etc. Just before heading home to think about a left over '13 vs '14 CB, I said " I might as well just go ahead and ride it, at least I'll be able to say I did and ruled it out". For reference, the two bikes I test rode prior to the CB- Triumph Bonneville and Ducati Scrambler. The CB was the best of the three for me followed by the Triumph, then the Duc. I guess the look on my face said it all. When the salesman saw my face as I pulled my helmet off, he laughed so hard he bent over and put his hands on his knees. Damn.

Now,
Red (plum really) or black. They don't have a blue. Red or black, red or black, red or black.....

I ended up choosing red but black was a close second .
ABS is always nice .
Shop around as I didnt see where you are located but there are some deals as in 13K for a new one in some places.
Like you said looks alone might not do it but that test ride will make it sold .
Honda Of Russleville AR had some all blacked and a few thousand less then the local dealers around here, ( dam it ) wish I had looked around further out as could have saved a couple of thousand on mine as I ended financing half through Honda anyway

Regardless of what bike you bought in the end, that was a wise decision.  Polaris is following the footsteps of Harley.  All image, no quality.

Yeah, my Honda dealer let me take their black demo home on a Friday. Bought the slightly quicker blue model on Saturday. Well played, Dreyer South...

Someone posted a new 2014 on sale for $11k so I also needed to check it out.

I owned the red (plum) one the next day and have been ordering parts to make it "my bike".

The last item I ordered for now,  just arrived yesterday so I plan on installing the Corbin bags today.

What a nice ride!

If you buy one, enjoy it!      I think its a killer bike for the money

Last summer while doing some work in Indy, I test rode a Valkyrie at Dreyer on Washington. I just stopped in there. Hadn't been in there in some time (I originally lived in Indy). I didn't even ask to test ride, the salesman pretty much just pushed me off on it. coolsmiley I rode the 14 Valkyrie and came back all smiles.Called my wife and she told me could tell I was smiling from ear to ear.As much as I appreciated the ride, I just knew I wanted the things you get with the F6B though. I asked them if they had a F6B to test ride, he told me they had one at their South branch. I was going right by there on my way home so I stopped in. They didn't have one ready to ride. The two they had ready were just sold. He told me if I could come back in on Saturday , they'd have one ready.  I rode back up with my wife on my Valkyrie (old school) on Saturday. Test rode the F6B. Sat down with them to discuss terms on one I wanted and the guy was trying to clown me on price. As we were leaving he told me to check back before buying elsewhere. Yeah right. You wasted my time and lost a sale. I bought from right down the street from house. From a new dealer who I just called and told him what I wanted and what I found one for in Lexington. He didn't have one , but called me back in less than 1/2 hour with the news he could get what I asked for cheaper and be ready the next day. I bought it the next day , not 2 miles from my house.

Man, sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with them. I've known the owners and the service and parts guys (and gals) for years and really like them.

On a side note, they are maybe 3 blocks from me. If you're ever back up this way, let me know and we'll ride.
