New to this board, but have owned my IS for 15 years. Just switched out my OEM shocks for Progressive 412's in time for very first Inzane this year (absolutely fantastic btw), and was not 100% pleased. Went with 13" standard for me (230 lb) and co-pilot (140 or so) + full load gear with trunk bag....called Progressive and they assured the 412 13's would be fine for that load rate. Unloaded they're great, but fully loaded on our long ride to and from Spearfish (set on 5) I found them bottoming out now and then, and the bike "swimming" a bit when hitting dips at high speed. They also "creak" a lot. Any others riding 412's 2-up with similar occurences, or recommendations for a different shock?
thx, msb in BC

Some folks on here have put 444s on a Valk with no issues. Prog says they won't fit but apparently they can with minimal issues. I have Works Performance shocks which are designed for you when you place the order.

I think Progressive steered you wrong.  That bike with the weights you are talking about would need a heavy duty spring.  (I don't know if you can get HD springs on the 412's)

I know you can a 412HD but from what I've read the 444 or even the 430 would be better.  I'd call them back and talk to them about the advice they gave you, maybe they'll give you a deal to upgrade.
Good luck

thx for the responses here. Will take your advice and maybe try the 444's....412's only come with HD spring in the 11 or 11.5", and I don't want to lower the backend .
