Finally got my baker mounts last week and when I tried to install them I didnt have all the parts. The wings that mount above the pods has about a 2 inch gap once the one side is mounted, so there is no way I can get the screw in through the wing and into the bracket. Where they mount on the pods, the bracket is so crooked I cant get the holes to line up. Worst product I jave ever bought. Told them im sending their crap back and they can put everything together the right way and ship it back to me. After waiting 4 months for them to get the brackets done I expected a perfect product. Oh, the welds on these things are terrible. Think my 4 year old could do better. I know at my work nothing leaves the building looking like that. We will see what they have to say, but im not vey happy after dropping a few hundred bucks on them.

Yeah, that's too bad. I think I remember you ordered yours about the same time as I did, but I don't have an IS. I got motowings, and of course the mounts came from Baker, who actually messed up my order but made it right asap. All in all, I'm very happy with the product and glad I bought them.

If you keep your cool with Mr Baker, he will bend over backwards to make it right.
Blow off steam and get pissed off and then it is good luck on what he does and when he does it.
I've had his wings on my last 6 bikes. All good merchandise.

Someone has to blow off steam. This is ridiculous waiting 4 months for their product and then being wrong when you finally get it. Maybe he should take pride in his work and when someone waits 4 months for their product, make sure it is right. Im not the only one with problems either. I dont even have half the washers and rubber washers and nuts and bolts. I can understand missing 2 or 3 muts or bolts but im missing about 20.

I run Baker Airwings on my standard & tourer and really like them. I put a set on my Interstate this spring and even though the set was fine regarding fit & finish, I am disapointed in how this design performs on the Interstate. It doesn't seem to block any wind and I can't feel much difference with them on or off.

No, you're right to blow off steam, and I'm glad you said something so that the rest of us know what happened. What I did when they got my order wrong is I laid everything out exactly as I got it, took photos of it and then highlighted what I thought was missing from the list of parts that should've been included. I emailed everything to them at Baker, and within a couple of days they looked over the photos and determined what was needed to complete my order. Then with many apologies they got it off to me within a couple days and everything was good at that point. Again, I have a tourer so I didn't need to wait for them to fabricate a new run of brackets, and the brackets that I got were just right for my bike. Good luck and I hope everything turns out OK – despite the fact it's too long to wait!

On the IS it is nearly mandatory to have fork wings when installing the Baker Airwings. Without the fork wings the baker wing that goes across the top of the pod creates a directed wind path under the sides of the fairing right up into your chest area.

Installed the fork deflectors earlier this year. They by themselves help a ton

Mr. Baker himself installed mine on my I/S in 2001. Got to say, that is one accessory I wouldn't give up. He said if I didn't like them, he would take them off and refund my $. I'll bet I didn't get 2 blocks from the rally site (VOAI Ride-In LaCrosse) and the wind was directed up on to my mid section and I was sold. Did I mention it was a Really Hot day?

where can one get a set of fork deflectors. I suffer from the aformentioned blow through between the airwings and the fairing. It causes substantial buffet

I purchased a set for my Tourer last year.
Many of the welds were bad, really bad. Two of the nylon screws had been overtightened and we're broken but held in place by folded brackets - no spare screws or washers were included as stated by the literature.
I called and ordered more screws, nuts and washers. I told them they owed me four sets for the missing spares and the broken ones and asked that they be credited against my order - to no avail.
It seems obvious to me that Mr. Baker has established a China connection from the look of the coat hanger welds.

I cannot say mine are perfect either. The tabs that the screws go in to secure it to the pod are not even welded on straight. Still love having them.
