And noticed these beautiful clouds over Big Bear. I wish they would come over me and drop some rain.

I know what you mean Dave, it's 104 here in Blythe.

I see the clouds move in, and then move right on by. No rain here either.

I see your neighborhood looks a lot like mine. Dirt front yards, dry grass. Just tall green trees. We have to conserve water here as well.

Something else I notice is that not many homes have gone to a solar system yet. There's a lot here in Blythe that have solar, there's several on my street.

Rained here in good old Carefree AZ the last 3 night about a half and inch per night.  The only problem is that we now have 108 degree temp with high humidity and it makes even walking a chore.  coolsmiley Sometimes you just can't make anyone happy. Smiley

About 1 the dark grey clouds came in and rained really hard for 15 min or so. My rain gauge got 0.3 inches. When it rains that hard I wonder how accurate it is. My wife was a few miles from our home and got nothing. The desert can be an interesting place.

Dennis, I just removed all my grass in the front and replaced with desert landscaping. I will not do the same in my back yard. My back yard looks like a park.

I have cut my water use by 66% vs our required 28%. I assume my bill will be the same...... uglystupid2

It is so fun living in the desert during monsoon season. You can watch the neat clouds and think you are going to get slammed and then it never rains.

Look forward to riding with the group again in the not so distant future.

Ya Rich, I'm waiting to hear from the rebate program to take out my front yard. I did quit watering it about a month ago and it's dead now. They wanted us to cut back 50% for outside watering. I couldn't keep my front lawn green with that anyway. I called them and there really behind in approval with all the applications. When I called them I told them that and they said not to take the lawn out until I get the approval but they can tell if's it's dead grass or weeds.

We arrived in Anchorage today riding in from Tok. The day started in the 60's and went up to the low 80's, but when we got 40 miles out from Anchorage it turned cooler, heavy clouds and rain.

I got my approval before starting. We only get $0.50 a square foot. LA gets $2. That explains the ads on TV where an outfit will take care of removing grass and replanting for just the rebate.
