Was looking for new F6b Deluxes and came across this used one that was not far from me at a dealer. Unfortunately, it was sold before I could even check it out. What I did find interesting is that it was the first one I've seen with this trunk. Can anyone identify it and if so, is it readily available for purchase. Have a link? Much obliged! And NO, I don't want a Wing...

You could very well be right, Jess. It looks like it could possibly be the King Tour Pak. Thanks!

Several F6B owners have adapted many different trunks to their bikes. The Harley styled ones seem to look really well. Some are actual Harley trunks. Here are some other examples. There are some other cool examples, all of which are installed to come off fairly easily. This is what I do for trips right now. I mad e platform from ABS to give more surface area for the Kuryakyn luggage to sit on. The plate form sits on rubber pads with clamping knobs for easy removal. This is a trunk I might consider. http://www.tsukayu.com/TourPackHD.htmlAn here is another link to one called a Swine Box. If you look at the pics, you'll see a black F6B with the SwineBox. http://brooksautoandcycle.com/

Thanks, Jimmytee,
Having had two Interstates, I just can't imagine having a bike that I couldn't throw my full face helmet in when I go in to a store/restaurant. Used to be able to get both helmets into an I/S trunk. But when we bought our HJC Flip helmets, only one would go in. Wife doesn't ride much, so I'd like to be able to add or take away the trunk quickly.
Your setup is nice, Jimmy. Good to know there are options!

Jess, when I looked at the pics of that bike, I too thought I was seeing gloss mixed with matte. I just thought it was the lighting in the pic but since you caught it also, it just might have been that way. I wouldn't care at all for a 'mixed' bike.

Well I think all the B's and Goldwing Valks have a bunch of matte black cowling, regardless of color. It's not so bad, if you can live with the basic Goldwing style of bodywork, and of course you can always slap on a bunch of chrome covers over (or in lieu of) some of the matte black cowling.
Both bikes have a lot to offer in terms of modern power and performance, 1800 fuelie, single sided swingarm, and B music and other options.
I still like my two interstates (which I can't seem to wear out), but after years of cleaning, polishing and shining all the nooks and crannies and aluminum wheels, the appeal of a wash and wear bike is growing on me in my old age.
I bought both my bikes used with a bunch of stuff already added. In a few years, I can see myself selling one and getting a nicely set up used B in the run toward the dirt nap.
I prefer the look of the Goldwing Valk over the B, but the work and expense of the handlebars, bags, shield and seat, and no music takes it out of the running for me.

I don't get it?????? Why buy an F6B and put a trunk on it???? Why not just buy a wing? Is it just to be able to take the trunk off at times? I guess I just don't get it. I would just buy a wing and get the good stuff like reverse and cruise and keep the trunk on all the time.

I don't get it , why buy a Valkyrie and add things like saddlebags, windshields etc.... Why don't you just buy a F6B???? The Various Harley trunks , IMHO and many others, look better than the trunks for the Gold WIngs, plus you only have to put them on when you want them. Why SuperValk on of the Valkyrie Interstates? Plus the seating position of the fully dressed Gold Wings IS DIFFERENT.

Everyone who sits on one says the driver sits pretty far forward. I'm 6' and want the ability to stretch out.

I contemplated a full Wing. At 5' 8" tall, I could probably have adjusted to the Wing, but I really do like the fact that the F6B sits you a little further back. To me, it was more familiar and reminiscent of the seating position of the Valkyrie. And then there is the price as you mentioned and the styling of the F8B is different.

Poor comparison, the F6B IS a wing without the trunk and noted seating position but the Valk is different in steering, weight, brakes, tire size, Stand, no command console and less fairings and different instrumentation. That was enough for me, that is enough to say its a different yet similar bike. Its more true to the original intent of the Valkyrie than the F6B. Just as adding accessories to the 97/03 Valk did not make that a wing.

The question was asked in regards to adding a trunk that is easily removable on an F6B. The F6B is different than a fully dressed Wing and there are a myriad of reasons why I chose one over a fully dressed Gold Wing. Adding a trunk doesn't nullify those reasons. That's enough for me and apparently a large and growing following.

That's enough for me and apparently a large and growing following. If you buy a wing or F6B the parts are interchangeable except for the trunk. This and the associated cover screws and seat are the only difference. Not so with the Valkyrie, so that is the reason for my not understanding just buying the wing. I had to make the same choice and that's why I didn't get the F6B although cool looking and a good cruiser its a wing really at least to me. So that's why the F6B to me lost some of its appeal. I can only find seating position as the reason for buying the F6B especially in this post where most are putting on luggage cases on the back. I thought that was the appeal less bulk but hey different strokes for different folks.

Those trunks , as I have pointed out, are quickly removable. Most don't leave them onand use them for luggage space when traveling. I just dont get your lack of understanding with that. Why buy a Valkyrie and add saddlebags etc..? Same reasoning you are using. Why would someone buy one of theold Intaerstates and then take off the trunk? .
