Y'all might recall my very favorite splice...removed from the old Vic and killed back when the weather was cool (may it rest in pieces)...
I now have a new favorite. A dubious distinction, no doubt.
And of course zip cord was involved...

You might consider getting a protected outlet if you're going to have it outside...

It's been suggested I just leave it and put alligator clips on any appliances I want to "plug in"
