That was a great read... You were correct in saying that the story was written from a different perspective.... Never before have I read a bike riding story with some of her references.... anorexia... menstrual cycles... lack of food... I guess she didn't prep very well... and it sounds like she was lucky to make it back home... alive... Yikes! Thanks Daniel... Ride Safely!

 Her perspective !!          uglystupid2

With all do repect, I would like to say that she has got one hell of a personal view of Canada and the Alcan,
( Dawson Creek, BC to Delta Junction, AK ).

That said, I wish I could convey on paper, as Daniel has done, how wonderful the trip can be.
I'll just have to rely on the memories.

I made that trip, except I went to Fairbanks and around, back in 1982. It was a great trip, and I'd do it again (and will) in a heartbeat. I just don't think she had much to compare it to.

Yep, an interesting view...and an eye opening one when I stopped to think about it.

The madness I'm familiar with...the "keep on going" thing...did it myself. Rescued another that was doing the same thing. Takes a bit before the pace "sets" in.

BUT...her view of the people and the places...comes from a fundementally different view of the world than mine.

Not trying to be insulting to her or anything...that's a heck of a trip to undertake on your own...but her view stikes me as a sort of a "prey" point of view.

Predator vs prey...in her "non-riding" situations...she has to think of things that would never have occurred to me.
