My '97 Tourer is up to 294K and gettin' kind'a noisy, so I'm considering an engine swap. The replacement engine is a 2000 IS with only 17,760K. I'm sure I remember reading, here on the board quite some time ago, that the ICM/CDI for an IS will actually "improve" the preformance in a Standard or Tourer due to slightly different mapping.
My question is will the ICM/CDI out of a Standard work with an IS engine?? I realize that there could be a little less "grunt" at the lower rpm range on the newly installed IS engine.
Has anyone had any personal experience with this??
