My '97 Tourer is up to 294K  and gettin' kind'a noisy, so I'm considering an engine swap.  The replacement engine is a 2000 IS with only 17,760K.  I'm sure I remember reading, here on the board quite some time ago, that the ICM/CDI for an IS will actually "improve" the preformance in a Standard or Tourer due to slightly different mapping.

My question is will the ICM/CDI out of a Standard work with an IS engine?? I realize that there could be a little less "grunt" at the lower rpm range on the newly installed IS engine.

Has anyone had any personal experience with this??

Thanx for the quick reply.  Just want to say that I'm not really looking for more power, I just don't want to have to buy the much more expensive IS CDI, if the one on my Tourer is a "plug & play"  with the IS engine and will function properly with that engine.
Thanx,
