there will be riders coming I would say from about 3pm till late evening.  depends on the weather one year they were still rolling in after 11pm.  some folks can't leave till after work. are you planning doing the ride? you should think about doing about half of the ride is through the country back roads and good black top just a little on the narrow side.

This thread definitely needs to be bumped back up the page.   angel

Anyone coming up from the south of Frankfort or from any other direction that get close to Frankfort, KY,  is welcome to join the small group that is meeting at my place in Frankfort, KY.

We'll ride north to Madison on some pretty good roads.   Will leave Frankfort at Noon on Friday.
Please contact me directly or PM me if there's a chance you'll join up with us.  Will provide the address and or directions to my place.

Sent cancellation request to rainman - thought I'd mention it here also so restaurant would not waste a meal on me. You folks have a large time! Gonna turn my odometer past the 100k mark here, but don't know if I still have it in me with the camera in one hand at 100mph! Only have 40 mi. to go... Roll Eyes

Cancelled the room at Bestway, Madison.

Sorry to hear that Valkernaut but I do know stuff comes up.   I missed an Inzane a couple of years ago due to an unforeseen incident I had very little control of.   Hopefully, next time.

Crazy B and I are in a holding pattern here.  One of her brothers went to the hospital last night and they do not expect him to leave alive.  We have been expecting this but it is still hard for her.  We are going to have to make a run to Florida.  I am still hoping we will be able to make this DRU ride but that is beginning to look like a very slim chance.  Sad  Will know more tomorrow.

Good news, I believe I just secured two more Kentucky Valkyrie Riders for this round up.   Really looking forward to it.

On a side note, I will probably need some assistance ensuring that Gabby takes his meds as prescribed.   He can get excited as some of you may have noticed.    Wink

Myself and as many Valkyries and other bikers as I can get will be gathering at my place around 10:00 AM in Frankfort and we'll crank up the Dragons present at noon and head up north to Madison.   We'll be taking some of Kentucky's curvy roads on our route up there so, I'm thinking it'll be about a 1.5 to 2 hour ride up.

To all my friends, ride safe and arrive alive.

Gavin,
Do me a favor Saturday, count the different state plates, I'm think'n Kentucky will be well represented.   Just finished calling and reminding several Valkyrie Buds.   Most couldn't commit but, some said they'd try.    Looking forward to this ride.

Ride safe, ride defensively, watch out for cages that aren't watching out for you.   Arrive Alive.   cooldude

Short but true story.   I have a friend that rides a BMW, a good experienced rider.   He and several other bikers were out a couple of weekends back riding.   Having a grand ole time.   Everyone in the group was supposedly an experienced biker.   But, we all have our preferred riding speeds.   My buddy was near the back of the pack, everyone slowed going into a sharp hairpin turn.    The trail rider lost sight of the group as it went through the hairpin curve.    What he didn't know was the hairpin curve snaked back the opposite direction and that meant the entire group was moving slow through the second part of the curve.   The trail rider rear ended my bud's BMW and both riders went down.   Eventually, both will be back in the saddle but, both were in the hospital and lost a lost of skin and multiple other injuries, not to mention the damage done to the bkes.

Ride your own ride and for God's sake, don't over estimate your own abilities.   I try to follow this advice also.   Let's not have any issues this weekend.

Well I know my dad (Neranice) is probably going.  I am going to give it my best shot.  I am on call the next two weeks straight. 5 hr call out before noon and 10 hr call out after noon.  So I am gong to see how the schedule goes, I may have to dip out mid ride on Saturday if I get called.  My dad might drag another Valk rider along, maybe some Wings who knows.

They are all last minute people.

I may get excited a lot but my meds ain't got nuthin to do with it.  I always want to go for long rides and this is one that Ron invited me to.  I read a lot of the last years messages and it seemed that it will be interesting.  I have not been to Indiana before and the good Lord knows I like to see his wonderful mountains, streams, and creeks that meander thru the valleys.  From what I have read from this ride,  IT IS GOING TO BE GOOD  !!!  Any way, I am planning to meet up with Ron, Terry and the others to make the trip from Frankfort  to Madison on Friday.  I promise to be quiet, demure, and only listen to others and learn from others actions.

See you all Friday and looking forward for the meeting and greeting, tire kicking and mostly telling some of the worst lies you ain't never thought of.  BE SEEING YOU  !!!

Ride safe and have fun.

 Angry Angry
I took Bruenhilde out this morning after cleaning and polishing.  I hooked up my charger to make sure the battery was good to go.  Usually after charging it likes to have some wind blowing up her skirt.  All went well and I stopped at Wally World to get a few items for the trip Friday.  You know, things that we cannot do without.  I got back on the bike and hit the starter---NOTHING  !!!  checked the voltage--6.5 volts after a 25 mile ride that should have charged it up.  IT WAS DEAD  !!!  I got a friend came by and he jumped it over.  There is a Honda shop about three miles away.  I bought another battery and checked the old one---WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE AT ALL  !!!
i am now ready to tackle the ride with lots of power to the beast and even brighter headlights.  Be seeing everyone when I travel with Ron and the bunch from Kentucky.  That is my story and I am sticking to it.

The forecast changes about every hour. I checked an hour ago and there was only a 20% chance of rain in Madison on Saturday. No sense worrying about it until about Friday. Weather people don't know what's going to happen tonight, much less in 3 or 4 days from now.  Wink
