I am familiar with the mythology of the Valkyrie from stories my Norwegian mother would tell me as a child so I am a little confused by the references to a dragon here on the forum and some dealers marketing.  Someone please shed some light on this.

Dragon:  large mythical creature that breathes fire.

Have you ever been stopped at a light in the summer when the radiator fan comes on?  Well, if that ain't a dragon breathing fire, I don't know what is!  LOL

I'm with you 100%. When I bought my Valk, the radiator had a dragon emblem, and i'm trying to get my hands on a maiden head to dress things up a bit. I'm more a fan of the Warrior's Angel...

More specifically, "The dragon is a legendary beast, large and powerful.  It flies, breathes fire and is beautiful to behold."

It's a bit confusing mixing the myths of dragons and valkyries.  Honda chose the name Valkyrie.  Her riders call her the Dragon.

Carl, you know that if you continue with this type of verbiage, you run the risk of being called a "serial word user"! Wink

Honda quit getting things right after Joe Boyd passed away.  The decidion to drop the Valkyrie was not a wise decision.  And that is the most polite way to put it.

Going on 21 years and I've never referred to my Valk as a (or the) "Dragon". Of course I've heard and read that for years, but the few of us up here in our little group haven't really carried on with it much at all, that I recall.
One humorous story (true) about it though...the BIL of one of our Eastern WA brothers purchased a Valk some years back and wanted to honor his new bike with a significant tattoo on his upper arm. I guess he was trying to save a few $$ by going to a less than professional tattoo artist (or maybe he saved $$ by paying by the letter)...when he unveiled it to the rest of the boys later in the day after getting it done, they all asked "What the he** is a Dagon?"
I believe to this day, there is a smallish "r" crammed in there somehow.

Agreed, I've never referred to either of my Valkyries as a Dragon.   They are Fat Ladies after all.  Wink

I always thought it had something to do with six cyl. and six headed dragon. But then what do I know. Other then i'm smart enough to not try and point out all Biden's F-up's to the cool aid drinkers.
