Out with the old...in with the wooohoooo!!!!

Hey Guys,

I finally got my bags installed today and they look pretty good.  I am not super impressed with the quality of the bags, but they will last until I buy some hard bags this winter.  I used the Honda bracket up top, but I made my own lower brackets because I love creating my own stuff.

I just used some shelving mesh for the sides and welded in some plates to attach the saddlebags.

From behind they look pretty good.  I do need to add a bracket up front to stop the bags from bouncing too much.  I will do that this weekend.

Here is the money shot   Grin

I also made some peg extensions for my aftermarket highway pegs so that they are more comfortable.  They work awesome.

I am starting to run out of things to do.

I'm going to do a set of Saddlemen bags Friday on mine.  I'll probably reinstall the rear seat depending on what the brackets without the seat look like.   I may make a luggage rack though for between the passenger handles and not reinstall the seat.

Havoc,

This winter, hopefully our CAD will go up because I want to get these to replace the ones on my bike.  They are fiberglass Jumbo Strong Hardbags made by Tsukayu.  Cost is $660 USD, for gloss black, with the shipping to Canada.  They look very similar to the bags on my old I/S, and should bolt right up to my homemade brackets.

I'm going to mock mine up with and without the solo brackets and take some pics.  It's highly likely I'll just put the rear seat back out and strap stuff to it in a worst case scenario.  I dont think the solo brackets will really look good but I won't know until Friday.

I was messing with mine a bit today and was laughing at the Honda OEM.  They say they're rated for ten pounds a side............  sad.

Here is a better view of my saddlebag brackets on my bike.  I put on a stabilizer bracket on the bottom, and hooked it to the exhaust bolt.  Now it won't move at all even at super high speeds.  Without the little bracket at the bottom, the bags would bounce in and out at the bottom.  I was also able to have the bags sit straight up and down, and not be on an angle.
