Starter button maintenance – couldn't do it
«

My starter button has been acting up on me, so I figured I better do the maintenance on it.
http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/starter.html.
My first time trying it. I couldn't get the black plate with the wires pryed loose from the body of the switch – that sucker's really stuck in there. I even ground a little hook tool to pry with which fit perfectly in there but it still wouldn't budge. I was afraid I was going to break something. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

If you look closely you will see four tabs, use a small knife and gently pry the tab away from the peg that fits in the hole
