crap in the fuel line. I drove an old Toyota Stout on a long trip and lost the fuel cap. I rubber-banded a garbage bvag over the fuel tank inlet. After a day it did _exactly_ what you describe. Me and my wife camped out two nights on the roadside as the )&)*#@@$# truck kept dying. Then I openned the carby bowl and saw bit of petrol-damaged bag in the fuel. So what would happen was the stuff weould clog the jets, then we would stop while I played with the engine...and of course the bits of plastic sank to the bottom of the fuel bowl. Then we could fire up, get 20Km and suck up tiny bits of bag again....die...start again...

Gonna meet up with my brother next weekend and do a few hours of riding. Should put it to the final test. I'm confident I fixed the problem, but I was wrong so many times that I'm not quite at ease yet.

But thank you all for the constant help and advice! I couldn't have done it without you. Y'all are awesome and I'm sure I'll be back sooner or later lol.
