I thoroughly enjoyed each one, you all make me feel either old or lazy, at one time or another I've enjoyed several of the above, but now my favorite hobby is the grandkids who live 450 miles away, but a great excuse for a ride.

Camping with the family
This is Isle Au Haut off the coast of Maine.  Accessible only by ferry boat.

This is Bryce Canyon in Utah

Nothing better than spending time with family.  No email, no computers, no voice mail....

Jean the mushrooms you are talking about we call "MOREL" mushrooms They grow wild here in the spring. We go horseback riding in the spring, and stop along the way to pick them. Usually end up with a saddle bag full. Morel hunting spots are top secret. many return to the same spots for many years. In the spring people sell their extras, the usually go far around $25 per pound in Missouri. The proper redneck way to cook them is pan fried, with a side of venison tenderloin, all washed down with a nice cold beer.
Hey Sharky, it's funny you should talk about top secret spots, my first cuz husband wanted me to take him, i told him he was not blood and i could not show him the family spots. Even though he married into the family, He was mad as hell over that. but he still don't know where i go.lol.

Fish.

Dauphin, tuna, King mackerel, redfish, specks, flounder, stripers, grouper, snook, cobia, crappies, bluegills, walleye.  It doesn't much matter.

Looking forward to getting into model railroading.

Since I retired from the Ohio Army National Guard in 2004,  I have been able to spend a lot more time with the family.   Over that time I have coached my son's REC sports teams in Soccer, Basketball and Baseball, I have done the same for my daughter in Volleyball and soccer.   They may never know that the experiences were better for me than for them.   When I was in the Guard I could never commit to coaching because of my schedule.

I am an avid handy man and have completed some major projects on our new (2002) house......Sun Room addition, 3 level composite deck, basement, underdeck shed etc..

I love to read and I now have the time to read about two books a week on average.

Golf is my passion,   I have played 96 rounds of golf this year and plan on at least 30 more.    My wife no longer rides with me and would much rather I play golf than ride.    She did by off on the Blue Grey ride this year.   I know I do not do the Valkyrie any justice by only riding it about 1500 miles ayear on average, but I still love to ride.   If I gave up golf (won't happen) I would probably put up some competive mileage numbers.   Prior to kids, I would put 10 to 12 K on my bike(s) a year.   Priorities!

Does coaching count as a hobby? Spent most of my free time being a football and baseball coach for my 3 sons.  Never made a basketball team, so just went to all their games and cheered them on. We did try camping but with all the sports, didn't get out much.

I enjoyed the heck out of coaching my kids and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Now I spend my free time riding and volunteering for Ride For Kids and Rolling Thunder.
