How hi-temp? The stuff I have is the Permatex Silver, good to 1600F

That should do it.  I don't believe it gets that hot down there.   Smiley

As a side note, the hi-temp stuff I have is bronze in color.  It's not Permatex.

Melting point of aluminum is about 1200°F, so 1600 should be OK. Grin

All done! The new pipes are in... what a difference!!! A big thank you to all of you, and an especially big shout out to Dave Weaver who went way above and beyond to help me out ; class act all the way!

Here she is:

I admit the TBRs sounded badass, but another 6 months of riding with those and I'd be too deaf to hear it.

I noticed some moisture under the pipes right after i fired up the bike, put my hand underneath away from the pipe and felt exhaust blowing out; worried it was leaking. Looked under and saw this:

One hole on each side... is this supposed to be there?

It is there for just what you noticed.  Let moisture escape during warm up.  After the exhaust is up to temp, the moisture at that point burns off.  Car mufflers have this also.
