My search couldn't find any pics, we like pics. 3 bolts to remove the rear half, 2 just clear the top of saddle bags with lids open, and one from seat anchor point makes for quick access to a good detail job too. Hit a large bump yesterday and heard the tire make contact under fender.  Then I notice the blinker indicator on hyper speed. Rut Ro Astro I bet no brake light either, sure enough she busted the gray plug where it clicks together. Riding 2(large) up  and I have I/S shocks cranked all the way up with the Austone tire,  but it seems the plug was slightly out of place and the metal tab under the front half of fender didn't help any. It had rubbed there before a few times until I put the I/S shocks on and used up all the adjustment. I got lucky and the plug is still useable I just had to tape it to stay together. Has anybody found an easy way to hide the plug upon reassembly ?

Can you hook it some how where it comes thru the fender?

Sounds like you need a set of Progressive 444's HD 13" shocks like I have for sale in the classifieds.  Grin

The plug goes up into a kind of little metal box... is your metal box gone?

Yes, the metal box is gone, Undecided only part of it is left, I have seen that on my Standard come to think of it.  crazy2

Use a cable tie and tie it to the side of the fender where it won't interfere with the tire.

Pay him no mind.  You may be able to fashion a connector holder from aluminum strapping material to be held in place by the bolt on the right side.  Us Jade Lady DarkSiders have to stick together...

It's all good fun, I like your idea Bob, maybe I can use a zip tie along with some strapping to slip down thru the nut cage so I can pull it tight before tightening the bolt. And IMHO the Teal Tourer is THE Best looking Machine ever made. I see lookers from all ages mesmerized by her looks.!

Here she sits tall, I/S shocks cranked up, the Austone gives me an inch, Ultimate King Big Boy, Front Progressive fork springs keep the front end from dipping, just how I like her. Some other upgrades include a belly tank and the Ernie Schuster exhaust. oh and the 01 wheels make her shine !

Your "jade" is a very nice looking bike! About the best I've seen. Did you mount your own truck stacks or are those tips?

I wish I knew more about the exhaust, all I know is it is from the late Ernie Schuster who apparently did his home work because these sound great, I think they are glass packs. If anybody knows more please chime in. I wonder also what has been done to the carbs to make her run so nice, bigger jets maybe, this bike has never gotten better than 27 mpg. But I love her just as she is. I need to practice with my new GoPro to capture some volume to post.

Sixlow your exhaust maybe a set of Mild2Wilds built by MarkT a member and sponsor of this forum.
http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Valk_Products/M2W_Exhaust__System/m2w_exhaust__system.html
If you supply Mark with the name of the PO, he would be able to fill you in on all the details of the exhaust system.

The carbs may have oversized jets and /or the needles may have been raised accounting for the poor gas mileage. There maybe other issues but you say it's running well. My mileage is usually 35 mpg or higher with stock carbs and M2W_Exhaust.
